Family is at the core of everything that is offered by Les Sports Vida Sana. The founders, Nora and Shawn, are a couple with five children. As parents, they see first hand the inequalities that their children face, whether it’s with girls in sports or the difference between services offered in private schools and public schools. They started Vida Sana in the hopes to make a difference in their community

Our History

Les Sports Vida Sana is a non-profit organization that was established in 2015. It was co-founded by Nora Chénier-Jones and Shawn Bowen. The idea came about when the two were looking for activities for their four children. They struggled to find places that could accommodate their whole family and so they opened their own centre in 2015. After the closure of their centre in 2018, they turned their attention to extracurricular classes that open in several sectors including sports, science, dance, and theatre to name a few. To date, they are pleased to be able to count on the support of ten schools in addition to numerous community centres and municipal boroughs to serve the population. In the meantime, they have started several social initiatives as well as projects to support their community. Their mission and vision have evolved over time, but there is a constant will to create a healthy lifestyle for everyone.
